MAP has high nitrogen and phosphorus content and is often used in agricultural production as a basic compound fertilizer.

As fertilizer, it is most suitable to apply ammonium phosphate during crop growth. Ammonium phosphate is acidic in soil and may have adverse effects if it is too close to seeds.
